Atlantis Transforming The World Of Hospitality Through Digitalization

Date:

Atlantis The Palm is a luxury resort located on the Palm Jumeirah, an artificial island in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It opened in 2008 and is inspired by the legend of the lost city of Atlantis. The resort features 1,539 guest rooms and suites, as well as 23 restaurants, bars, and lounges. One of the most popular attractions at Atlantis The Palm is the Aquaventure Waterpark, which features over 30 water slides and attractions, including the world-renowned Leap of Faith waterslide. The resort is also home to The Lost Chambers Aquarium, which is home to over 65,000 marine animals and features a variety of exhibits and interactive experiences.

Overall, Atlantis The Palm is a world-class resort that offers guests a luxurious and unforgettable experience in one of the most vibrant cities in the world.

Catering To The Needs Of Digital Travelers

The hotel industry now refers to tourists as “digital travelers” who anticipate the ability to access their trip information and services from a solitary device. Holiday-goers are increasingly using technology to make purchases, from searching for destinations to comparing prices and selecting accommodations. Mobile devices and tablets are accessible, enabling digital travelers to seek information and hire services throughout their vacation cycle. As a result, 24-hour service is essential to meet the needs of travelers in this digital age. Therefore, Atlantis has relentlessly worked on providing these facilities to its customers, leading to its current success.

Upon arrival at the hotel, guests can benefit from a paperless registration and check-in process, and the resort offers accessible Wi-Fi. A digital room key can be obtained via the guests’ mobile phones, which allows access to a live chat with customer service, room service, and digital housekeeping requests.

Effective Usage Of Digital Voice Assistants

While the integration of digital voice assistants could provide numerous benefits to hotel guests, the challenge lies in seamlessly integrating this technology into core hospitality business applications, such as Atlantis The Palm’s Property Management System, and the Guest Service Optimization application. Furthermore, the natural language programming of such platforms poses a challenge, particularly for Atlantis, which welcomes guests from over 70 nationalities daily. However, constant development in technology poses the possibility of achieving higher efficiency in this aspect as well.

Developing An Application For Loyal Customers

To gain a competitive advantage, Atlantis The Palm developed The Atlantis Circle, a loyalty app aimed at the UAE resident market, using the Hyperledger Fabric blockchain platform with the assistance of the marketing team and a local partner. This app offers discounts on food and beverage outlets, providing 25% off for groups of up to eight guests in the resort’s restaurants and bars. The app also allows users to earn points, climb tiers from blue to gold, and collect rewards. The app has been well-received, with tens of thousands of UAE residents engaging with it and enjoying the dining rewards. It has also enabled the hotel to communicate directly with guests in a new way, providing them with incentives to visit repeatedly and climb to the next tier of loyalty rewards. The app celebrated its first year of operation in June.

More Specialized Applications Under Development

Atlantis the Palm has collaborated with technology service providers to develop some of its more specialized apps. One such app is the Ocean Tales app, which was launched in June. It uses real-time fish detection technology to identify and provide information about the different species in the resort’s Lost Chambers Aquarium. Visitors can learn about the 65,000 marine animals in the aquarium by scanning each species to activate a fun and interactive learning experience.

This was how Dubai’s Atlantis revolutionized the domain of Hospitality with technology.
